One Day Excursion in Kea
Kea, known to all as Tzia, is a beautiful Cycladic island and a popular destination thanks to its diverse landscape and rich historical tradition. On the island you will be charmed by the great variations in landscape with steep mountains, small meadows, olive groves, vineyards, ravines, picturesque coves and secluded beaches. Visit here the largest oak forest in the Cyclades and observe the rich birdlife of the island. It is also worth discovering the many small caves of particular geological interest (the caves of Kalamos, the caves of Agios Timotheos and Agios Panteleimon), as well as the mine in the area of Orkos. Follow the paths – a total of 81 km long – and discover the four ancient independent city-states of the island (Ioulida, Karthaea, Korissia, Poiessa).
The island of Kea is a favourite destination for sailors mainly because of the short distance between it and Attica, but also for diving enthusiasts as it hides many shipwrecks under the sea.
